Overweight? You May Be Starving

The last thing you may think of when you are battling the buldge is the possibility that you may actually be starving. When you think about someone who is starving you may likely think about the poor people in indigenous cultures who don't get enough food every day. But there is another type of starvation happening on our planet.

Processed foods are nutritionally depleted. In fact I would venture to say many products being sold as food on the market today have little or no nutritional value at all. This includes white flour products, white sugar, fried foods, over cooked foods and baked goods.

When your diet consists mainly of processed and cooked foods you may be nutritionally depleted. Your body is getting a lot of substance or filler yet it isn't getting nutrition. Nutrition is the fuel to supply the body with needed energy, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. Without this necessary nutrition your body will eventually suffer either through obesity or some other disease.

A continuous diet of processed foods result in the build up of toxins in the body. Fat can be the result.

When your body is not getting the nutrition it needs it may be giving you warning signs in the form of cravings. A craving for sweets may actually be a craving for fruit which is nutrient dense and very cleansing. A craving for salt may be a craving for a particular type of green vegetable which is high in natural salts. A craving for coffee or cola may be a sign that your body needs energy. Any craving for liquids, juices or soda's is likely your body's cry for water.

Over the years of wrong eating it is easy to misinterpret your body's communication with you and rather than feeding it something of value you may have formed the habit of feeding it more processed foods to satisfy cravings.

Many people begin to lose weight simply by taking a whole food supplement. However the best way to be sure your body is getting what it needs is to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in their raw form, drink lots of fresh water and take a whole food or superfood supplement as well.

Once you begin actually feeding your body you will notice many of your food cravings diminishing. You will notice much more energy and aliveness and a stronger sense of well-being.

Even health problems such as thyroid and metabolism issues that seem to be interferring with weight loss have been successfully reversed through proper diet and nutrition. When we start getting all the nutrients our body needs it can begin to heal itself.

Diets for most people trying to lose weight equal "reduction" or taking away food. A change in mindset could be to simply see yourself as "adding" food rather than taking away. Just the process of adding high quality nutrition to the diet on a daily basis can make a world of difference in how you feel and also the results you have with losing extra pounds.

The more high quality nutrition your body gets the more properly it will function and assist you in not only cleansing out the toxic waste that has been stored over the years but also supplying the needed energy for exercise and increased activity. You will also noticed a reduction in food cravings and find yourself eating less of the "bad stuff" in favor of more "good stuff".

Those who are addicted to processed foods may want to get coaching or counseling to help with their addictions, however some will find their addictions to certain foods diminish simply by incorporating a diet of nutrionally dense food and superfoods.

Pills and potions will never address the issue of nutrition. If you are going to take anything at all take a superfood product. It will do more for you in the long run than any diet pill or potion.

If you are overweight or not feeling up to par, try eating high quality nutrition for just a month and let the results speak for themselves.

What is high quality nutrition? It is living foods such as fresh raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, sprouted grains and the superfoods such as the sea algaes and plankton.
