Planting The Seeds For Weight Loss Success

The journey to your ideal size and shape is very similar to planting a garden. First you need to decide what you want to plant. You then plant the seeds, give the seeds ample time to sprout and more time to grow to maturity.

You know it is destructive to watch the place where you planted the seed every day and you certainly don't want to dig into the soil to see how the seed is coming along. You have to trust the seed will sprout in its own time and come to fruition in its own time. If you nurture the seed, by feeding it good nutrients, and water it regularly, eventually you will rejoice in a garden in full bloom.

Imagine you have decided you are going to plant a garden this year. You purchase some good seed, you prepare the soil and plant your seeds. You understand there is a period of time that must pass before your seeds sprout and another period of time before they bear fruit.

You know it is destructive to watch the place where you planted the seed every day and you certainly don't want to dig into the soil to see how the seed is coming along. You have to trust the seed will sprout in its own time and come to fruition in its own time. If you nurture the seed, by feeding it good nutrients, and water it regularly, eventually you will rejoice in a garden in full bloom.

What Is Your Goal?

With your body, first you need to decide what your goal is. What size do you want to be? How do you want to look and feel? How much do you want to weigh? How do you believe your life will be different once you reach your goals?

To get the best results from this program you will need a notebook or two. Have a notebook also for journaling your feelings.

Begin by writing a page entitled “The Ideal Me”. This is the beginning of your journey.

Take a moment and visualize yourself at your goal. Imagine how you look and feel, what you are wearing? What do you see yourself doing? What types of foods are you eating? Let yourself go and spend as much time as you need to on this exercise. It is important!

Now write out your vision in perfect detail. It may take you one page or it may take three pages, it doesn't matter. Just allow yourself the luxury of being your ideal self for a day.

Here is an example:

I wake up in the morning and look into the mirror. I am slender and fit and feel very good about myself and my body. I am proud of my accomplishment and so glad my problems with being overweight are far behind me. I no longer have to worry about gaining the weight back because I am not the same person I used to be. I have changed the way I eat, the way I look at food and the way I feel about myself. I have emerged from the cocoon a butterfly, transformed. I am a strong 5'8”, 130 pounds. I am a perfect size 8. My body is strong and healthy. My stomach is flat and firm and my butt and legs are firm and muscular. My arms are strong and well defined. I have loads of energy for my life work and I'm feeling on top of the world, unstoppable.

I really recommend you complete this exercise as soon as possible. This can only work for you if you work it. Just reading it won't do the trick. You need to be sure to have your notebooks ready and participate fully. This is part of your commitment to yourself.

Be sure to write in the present tense as if you are already there. This is an important part of planting your subconscious seeds. You are giving your subconscious mind direction. You are showing it where to take you.

Once you have written your vision of the ideal you be sure to read it, out loud if possible, every morning upon awakening and every evening before going to sleep. This will help not only solidify your commitment on a conscious level but you are continuing to influence the subconscious mind which is really what will take you to your goal.
