Overcoming Food Addictions, One Step at a Time!

If you are eating cooked and processed foods, which are addictive, it is safe to say you may be out of touch with your instincts. It may very well be your addictions that are running the show. You have likely acquired a taste for the highly sugared, highly salted artificial flavored substances that are being marketed as food.

You have likely acquired a taste for baked goods and cooked foods, rich sauces, gravies, creams, roasted meats and the whole gamut of highly aromatic, mouth watering delicacies.

You have likely adopted certain foods to provide comfort, security and escape.

What would happen, you might think, if you actually traded these foods in for something better? Is it possible? Look at all you would have to give up?

Let me begin by saying you don't have to give anything up! This is all a choice. Now that you have the information, you get to make the choice and you don't have to do it all at once.

What if we looked at it this way! There are no good foods or bad foods, there are only foods that provide fuel to your body and foods that don't. If you eat foods that do provide fuel, you will get an abundance of energy and notice your body getting lighter and lighter in every way.

If you eat foods that don't provide high quality fuel you will enjoy the taste, the smell and the comfort initially, but you won't really enjoy how you feel in the long run. Foods that are nutritionally inadequate also contribute to the build up of toxins in your body which is why you don't feel good.

Begin Making Changes Today!

Go easy on yourself. Start today, by acting from the information you are learning right now! Incorporate more fresh organic fruits and vegetables in your diet! As you do this you will be replacing more and more of the unhealthy choices in favor of living nutrients.

One way to begin making a positive change in your diet is to purchase a good quality juicer and start pressing your own fresh live juices. Have a cup of fresh squeezed juice for breakfast every morning and follow it with several pieces of fresh fruit throughout the morning. This will get your day off to a fresh, lively start, literally!

Whenever you eat fruit it is best to eat it alone on an empty stomach. It passes through the digestive system so quickly you don't want it to mix in with heavier foods as it will begin to ferment causing gas and bloating. This makes fruit a perfect breakfast food and also a great snack when your stomach is empty before meals. You don't want to eat fruit as a dessert after meals. But you can eat it about 20-30 minutes before a meal.

The second thing you can do is begin replacing either your lunch or dinner with a large fresh green salad with lots of good vegetables. Pick up a high quality dressing from your natural foods store, or make your own from organic apple cider vinegar and olive oil or lemon and olive oil.

Incorporate a fresh green salad or another type of raw vegetable salad with your third meal.

The next thing to do is cut out all processed beverages. Stick to pure water with slices of lemon or lime, fresh raw diluted juices, nut milks and herb teas. Stay away from all other beverages as they won't support your goal.

The purpose for drinking is the same as your purpose for eating. To supply needed fuel to the body. Fresh pure water is needed to hydrate the body and replace the fluids. Although the other beverages on the market may seem to quench your thirst initially, they are introducing more toxins to the body, so rather than cleansing they have the opposite effect.

If you do nothing but make the above changes slowly over a 90 day period you will have made great strides in changing your lifestyle. You will be greatly decreasing the flow of toxins into your body and increasing the flow of life giving nutrients. What a change!
