Raw Food for Weight Loss

The more raw living foods you include in your diet, the greater your results. Forget counting calories, carbohydrates, proteins and fat grams. Instead you must simply get back to nature.

If you have been eating processed or packaged foods, refined sugars, flours, diet soda's, poor quality meats and dairy products you are not eating the food that nature has provided for your body. These things are poison to the body and create a toxic environment.

The extra weight on your body is a storehouse for these toxins. If you want to lose weight you must change your lifestyle to include giving up your addiction to processed foods and detoxifying your body. Raw fruit is natures perfect cleanser. It is true most fruit is high in sugar, but these are natural sugars in their natural form, unaltered by man. Your body can readily use these sugars for energy with minimal effort. Fruit digests very quickly, about 20-30 minutes. It doesn't sit in your body for hours, days and weeks like other foods do.

Vegetables, in their raw form, digest in only a few hours and like fruit, the nutrients are rapidly absorbed by the body. There are so many different fruits and vegetables you could make a project out of learning about them and trying the abundance of living food recipe's available.

Transition Slowly

It is not necessary to take radical measures to lose weight. You don't have to jump right in and begin eating 100% raw foods. Just start incorporating more into your diet and as result you will eat less of the processed and cooked foods.

Your addictions fight hard for their survival as they have for so many years already. Since it takes approximately 30 days to break a habit you can prepare for the first 30 days being the most challenging. After you have conditioned yourself to a positive new habit for 30 days you will likely be excited about the results you are having and want to continue.

Weight loss is a natural result of eating highly nutrititious foods in place of empty calories, however it is best to focus on your health rather than the weight loss. Just trust the process and know the weight will come off in due time. It took you many years to get your body where it is today and it will take time to reverse the damage, but it will be reversed if you simply keep putting one foot in front of the other and stay committed to a health producing lifestyle.

If you feel inclined or motivated to begin eating 100% raw foods be sure to get support because changes will happen very rapidly in your body. Your body will spiral into a rapid detoxification and if you don't understand the process it could be frightening and even dangerous.

When the body is used to having processed foods on a daily basis and suddenly you are eating only pure, organic food from the earth, it will begin the cleansing process in a big way. You may experience detox symptoms such as headaches, body aches, skin rashes and breakouts, loose stools, and an array of other symptoms. These are not bad because the body is cleansing itself but it may feel bad causing you to want to return to previous habits. The slower the detox, the better for someone just starting out. You may want to transition to 50% raw foods each day and work your way to 75%. After three to six months you may want to try 100% raw for a few months and see how it feels to you.

Change Your Lifestyle

One thing to remember is this is NOT A DIET! It is a way of life that supports optimal health and well being. Our society is addicted to cooked and processed foods and it is destroying our health. If you want excellent health you have to be willing to unplug from social conditioning and plug into a new support network. This isn't just about a bunch of overweight people wanting to get slim but rather a whole increasing population of people wanting to get their health back. This is about people wanting to live longer and have a good quality of life. This is about achieving dreams and developing a powerful relationship with yourself.

What we eat not only affects our physical health but our emotional and mental health as well. Once you begin cleaning up your diet you will notice not only an increase of energy but a sense of well being you may not have experienced for a long time. You may find yourself reviving dreams that have been put away or lost. You will likely have a greater desire to exercise and move your body. The process becomes more than losing weight, it is about gaining a life, a good life!
