Getting Back To Nature

I want to talk to you about food. In Websters Dictionary the definition of food is “any substance which, by a process of metabolism, a living organism can convert into fresh tissue, energy etc. into a solid substance eaten for nourishment."

There is only a small percentage of substances being marketed in our grocery stores today that actually supply nourishment to the body. Most of what you can buy at your local food market wouldn't actually be considered food but rather processed, devitalized, denatured and altered substances.

When food has been taken from its original form and altered into something different it has lost its ability to supply high quality nutrition to the body. This altered substance has an adverse effect on your body creating a toxic environment from a build up of materials the body cannot process as nourishment.

Any food that has been cooked loses the majority of its life giving properties right away. When you heat a food substance to over 102 degrees the vitamins and enzymes start being destroyed. Most of the foods being sold in your grocery store have been cooked or will be cooked. So the likelihood of getting the fuel you need to grow strong healthy tissue and have an abundance of energy is pretty low.

You may find yourself constantly experiencing cravings for different types of food. This may be your body giving the signal it needs nutrition. You may be eating a lot of different food substances yet no matter how much you eat, your nutritional needs are still not being met. This would be the case if the majority of your diet consists of processed and cooked foods.

The first step in learning to eat right is to learn to eat living nutrition. In order to supply the maximum amount of energy and fuel to your body with the minimum amount of food you will need to eat primarily raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. This includes nut milks, nut butters, and sweet fruits like dates and figs.

If you are ready to walk away and say “this woman is nuts!” wait! Give me a fair shot to explain!

What does every weight loss program encourage you to do? Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables? What are the research findings regarding what foods you should eat to prevent cancer and heart disease? Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables! The word fresh is used. Not frozen! Not cooked! Not processed! But fresh!

Why do you think fresh fruits and vegetables are encouraged? Because they actually supply nutrition to the body which builds healthy tissue! Diseased tissue comes from eating nutrient depleted foods which create a toxic environment in the body. Toxic wastes are stored in your colon and in your fat cells! When you embark on your journey to lose weight you are actually working to rid your body of toxic waste. You do this by both the process of cleansing and by supplying whole food nutrition to the body.

Fresh fruit is nature's cleanser. It is the best thing to eat to help the body's natural cleansing process along. At the same time it supplies energy to the body. Vegetables work together to build the body by supplying a rich abundance of vitamins and minerals. These are fresh, organic vegetables in their raw form. Raw nuts and seeds add an abundance of proteins and healthy fats. All of your nutritional needs are met in these four food groups. And…these are all living foods with live enzymes.

If you were to go out in nature you would notice the animals, the birds, the reptiles and every other living being gets it's nourishment from live enzymes. We are the only creature sophisticated enough to reject our God given manna in exchange for some sugar coated wasteland. Animals eat their food raw because this is how it is supposed to be done. We alter our food because somewhere along the line in the evolution of mankind we decided we could do a better job than Mother Nature herself. I'm sure part of it had to do with necessity. When fire was discovered meat was cooked to make it more palatable. We had to alter meat to make it palatable because our natural instincts don't support meat eating. We don't have the natural instinct to take down an animal and bit into it's flesh. We do have the instinct to pluck a piece of fruit from a tree and bite into it's flesh. This should tell us something right there.

When you learn to get back in harmony with your instincts and follow them you will restore yourself to optimal health and vitality. You will also conquer hazardous food addictions that keep you going back for more, something that doesn't support your weight loss goals.
